MAJOR MINERALS & ELECTROLYTES

• Calcium (from two sources) and phosphorus – critically involved in bone growth, development and maintenance;
• Electrolytes sodium and chloride – involved in normal nerve and muscle function and carbohydrate metabolism;
• Magnesium, an important electrolyte in muscle contraction, body fluids and metabolic enzymes

TRACE MINERALS

• Zinc and copper in a combination of organic and inorganic form to improve uptake. These trace minerals are essential in bone, cartilage and hoof formation;
• Manganese also in organic and inorganic form, which contributes to carbohydrate and fat metabolism and the formation of chondroitin sulphate in the cartilage of joints;
• Iodine, which regulates the metabolic rate;
• SEL-PLEX® selenium, an organic selenium yeast, important in antioxidant defense, immune function and thyroid hormone production.

VITAMINS

• Vitamin A, important in bone remodelling in growing horses as well as vision, reproduction, digestion and respiration;
• Vitamin D, critically concerned with the absorption, regulation, metabolism and excretion of calcium and phosphorus;
• High levels of Vitamin E, which plays a role in immune, cardiovascular, neuromuscular and reproductive functions;
• Vitamin K, essential for activation of blood clotting factors and in metabolic pathways in bone and other tissues;
• Vitamin C, may be useful in high performance horses for improving antioxidant status;
• B Group vitamins (including Vitamin B1, B2, B6, B12, D-Calcium Pantothenate, Folic acid and Niacin) which play a role in the release of energy, and are needed for numerous essential body functions.
• Enhanced levels of Biotin, which is necessary for cell growth, the production of fatty acids and the metabolism of fats and amino acids. Biotin supplementation has been reported to result in the improvement of hoof hardness, growth rate and quality of hooves and laminae strength.

PROTEIN & AMINO ACIDS

• Highly palatable protein meals (grain-free) and fortified with essential amino acids that (following extensive feed testing) have been identified as being low in common Australian feed sources.

FATTY ACIDS

• EPA + DHA Omega 3 fatty acids – studies have suggested a wide range of health benefits in horses including reduced inflammatory response, improved respiratory function when combined with a low dust environment; improved joint health; improved metabolic health and improved gastrointestinal health.

JOINT HEALTH ACTIVES

• MSM, a bioavailable sulphur source with anti-inflammatory properties;
• Glucosamine Hydrochloride – may help to maintain the balance of cartilage turnover and cartilage synthesis;
• Chondroitin Sulphate – may assist pre-existing joint related problems by preventing the breakdown of health cartilage matrix by enzymes released from damaged tissues after injury.

• ACTIGEN® – a second generation, unique bioactive product derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae with enhanced activities in immune modulation and intestinal health;

Directions

Simply offer 300 – 600g daily with chaff and add concentrates/hay according to horse workload, body condition and pasture availability.
